Get Fit For Life, LLC

The True Age Test designed by Get Fit For Life, LLC is the result years of research and development dating back to 1976. This article chronicles the progressive development of this unique software application which is the cornerstone of the MyTrueAge.com website.

DATA-PEP ANALYSIS

The creation of the True Age Test begins in 1976 as Data-Pep Associates, Inc, commences programming of Data-Pep Analysis software for the Wang 2200 mini-computer, under the direction of Dr. Barry Stein, Clinical Exercise Physiologist. This unique software was one of the first sports medicine computer applications in use in health clubs around the country. The Data-PEP software was highlighted in The Physician and Sportsmedicine magazine  - July 1981 -  in an article entitled “The Computerization of Sports Medicine.” The Data-Pep system was marketed to health clubs and corporate fitness programs throughout the United States and accumulated test data was included in a national fitness test database.

 

PROFILE 1000 WELLNESS SYSTEM 

The next stage in the development of the True Age Test was marked by the incorporation of Lenbar Fitness, Inc. on November 3, 1982. Under the direction of Dr. Barry M. Stein, Lenbar Sports Medical, a division of Lenbar Fitness, Inc. designed and programmed the Profile 1000 Wellness System which made its initial debut at the Club Industry Show in 1982.

The Profile 1000 Wellness System available on the newly released IBM-PC, offered computerized fitness testing, prescriptive exercise programming and a health history and lifestyle questionnaire. Data stored on the system presented color graphic analysis of most-recent and overall change for each of the tested parameters.  Profile 1000 was marketed to medical fitness programs, corporate wellness programs and health clubs nationally.

In 1984, UpJohn HealthCare Services, a division of The UpJohn Company, acquired the rights to market the Profile 1000 system and provided Lenbar Fitness, Inc. with a product endorsement for the Profile 1000 software.

In 1985, to assist Upjohn Healthcare Services with further development and merchandizing of the Profile 1000 system, Barry Stein, President of Lenbar Fitness, Inc, becomes a product development/marketing consultant for Upjohn Healthcare Services.   

Profile 1000 data accumulated from health clubs, wellness centers and corporate fitness programs in nine geographic areas of the United States is provided to Bankers Security Life Insurance Company in New York. The Profile 1000 national database is used to create The Health Club Membership Life Insurance Policy.

 

TRUE AGE TEST 

In early 1999, using data acquired from Data-Pep Analysis and the Profile 1000 Wellness System, Dr. Stein established Get Fit For Life as a D/B/A in New York and began work on the True Age Test. In 2001, Dr. Stein published Getting Back to BASICS  “What your doctor wanted to tell you … but didn’t have the time.”  The first edition of this lifestyle improvement book included a printed version of the True Age Test. Get Fit For Life, LLC believes that the copyright registration TXu001021119 / 2001-09-24 for this book represents the first time that any True Age Test was published in print. 

 

In 2003, Get Fit For Life began work computerizing the True Age Test, hiring programmer Art Sterling and web designer Jason Weber. On March 11, 2005, Get Fit For Life D/B/A becomes Get Fit For Life, LLC, a Limited Liability Corporation in Florida and registered in the state of New York State. On June 15, 2005, following extensive programming and web design, the True Age Test made its initial debut on the Internet at www.MyTrueAge.com. Today, the Get Fit For Life, LLC - True Age Test - continues to offer it's comprehensive test to help users pinpoint targeted needs and make corrective changes.
